Advanced Performers Workshop Camp 2008

Brundage Park Playhouse proudly announces its 27th season of summer performing arts education with the return of our “Advanced Camp”. The Advanced Performers Workshop, or APW, is a more intensive alternative to our regular Summer Stages program.   The summer is broken into two three-week sessions.  The three-week session will culminate with a two-show performance weekend, not only for family and friends, but the general public as well!  APW is only open to students who will be entering 7th –11th grade in the 2008-2009 school year, and admission is by audition/interview only.

What to Expect at BPP’s Advanced Performers Workshop…

This camp will take place at the Senior Center on Calais Road, next to the Randolph Library.  Much like our regular Summer Stages program, APW students will spend part of their time with us in rehearsal for whatever show they are currently working on, and part of their time in workshops on various aspects of theater arts.  Past workshops have included Stage Combat, Improvisation, Shakespeare and more. Due to the more intensive nature of this program, admission is determined by an interview with staff members as well as a voice and movement audition.

Auditions…

Auditions will be held at the playhouse during the week of March 24th - March 27th between 5 and 7pm.  Please call the theater at (973) 989-7092 to set up an audition appointment.  There is a non-refundable audition fee of $10.00 per student.  This audition is part of the learning experience we’re hoping to create for your child. The fee will be credited to your registration if your child should be accepted into the APW program or put towards the registration of one of our regular Summer Stages sessions.  Your child will initially be auditioning for admission to the program.  Auditions for specific roles in each session will be held during the first week of each session.  We will not accept more than 20 students for each session.

Performances…

What theatrical performance experience would be complete without an audience?  At the end of each session we present two performances.  Performances will be held at 6pm on Friday and  2pm. on Saturday afternoon at Brundage Park Playhouse on Carrell Road.   Each cast member will receive 2 complimentary tickets for each performance and additional seats will be available on a first come first served basis for the price of $3.
