Instructor – Samara (Sammi) Fishkin

In this course students will explore the art of the dramatic monologue, as basic actor’s training as well as for audition preparation.  Each student will be given highly individualized attention as they choose either one monologue for the entire session or they may choose to move on to other pieces.  Students may bring in their own monologues or be given one by the instructor.  They can be either dramatic or comedic pieces.  We will then rehearse and perform their chosen pieces with each other and the class for informal, kind feedback.

Instructor – Samara (Sammi) Fishkin

In this class, students will be working toward their own ten-minute play!  Students will do most of their writing on their own time, bring their work to class and have it be performed by their peers in order to gain feedback from both their peers and the instructor, in a very safe and supportive environment.  At the end of the class, students will showcase their ten-minute play or a selected scene. Students may ask fellow class members or friends outside of class to perform as actors for their final work. By the end of the session, students will have learned about characterization, plot, setting, dialogue, theme, and dramatic structure.
